Ron was born into a Christian home and was reared around Garner, NC. He came to faith in Christ as a nine-year-old boy. As a teen, God began moving in his heart toward Gospel ministry, and in 1978, he enrolled in BJU for training. While at BJ, he met the love of his life, Janice Allen, and they were married in 1983.
Following graduation, Ron served on the staff at BJU for 11 years, both in the Dean of Men’s office and then teaching Bible in Bob Jones Academy. After leaving BJU, he served on the pastoral team of Marquette Manor Baptist Church, Downers Grove, IL, for 4 years before coming to serve Bible Baptist Church near Charlotte, NC, for nearly 29 years.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Ron loves missions and has enjoyed serving with mission agencies, traveling and speaking in many foreign countries. In his free time, Ron enjoys traveling, reading, and long-distance running. Ron and Janice have 4 children, all BJU grads, and 14 grandchildren.
