Pastor Brent Belford joined the Colonial Baptist Church staff in 2016 and currently serves as the senior pastor. He and his wife Carissa, along with their five children, moved to Virginia Beach from Minneapolis, Minnesota where he served as Vice President of administration and provost at Central Seminary.
Pastor Brent’s desire to serve the church and the academy led him to complete doctoral degrees in pastoral ministries (DMin, Northland International University) and New Testament studies (PhD, Ridley College, Melbourne).
Amid the busyness of pastoral ministry, Brent occasionally reviews biblical resources (for the Gospel Coalition, Master’s Seminary Journal, etc.), enjoys presenting at academic, evangelical conferences (e.g., Evangelical Theological Society, Institute of Biblical Research), and teaching biblical exposition courses and workshops at several seminaries and pastor’s meetings worldwide.
Pastor Brent enjoys spending time with Carissa and their children, playing golf, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. His main ministry passions include preaching and teaching the Scripture and developing future leaders of the church.
